There is no need for tear gas here, as the sight of the chaos caused by the police in an attempt to curb a perfectly peaceful movement, is enough to make me weep.
I cry for my own country. I am ashamed. Deeply ashamed.
Tell me, what reason do you have for accusing your own people of giving up on you, to seek greener pastures elsewhere, when you cannot even provide an outlet for your rakyat to voice their concerns? What reason do you have for accusing overseas Malaysian students of being "ungrateful" when we choose not to come back to your *cough* wide open *cough* arms, when you cannot promise a future for us?
Malaysian government declares pro-democracy rally is illegal. What does this say about your views on democracy huh? And how ironic it was that during the opening shot of this clip, a little footnote on Myanmar pro-democratic activist Aung San Suu Kyi appeared on-screen while the newscaster reported about chemical weapons being fired at the peaceful horde of protesters.
Can you blame me, or anyone else, for being constantly disappointed at your state of affairs? Can you blame me for not regarding you as a safe haven anymore?

We are becoming Myanmar.
brilliantly said... it's not that all of u are ungrateful... just that the future is much brighter somewhere else. as malaysia continues its journey towards the abyss... this is a time for a change... otherwise, it will be beyond help.
no ehon, we are not becoming myanmar... we are becoming what we ought to be.
ehon: who knows? maybe worse @_@
zewt: well, sometimes it's not necessarily brighter elsewhere, but at least there's still hope, u know? and at least some leaders are honest rather than trying to mess with the ppl's mind by dealing the racial card. bah!
got back n heard abt it in the news..still abit blur..havent read up on it just yet..need to go find the international papers..the local papers tend to soften things up..
joe: not only do they tend to soften things up, but they tend to distort the truth too :( imagine, we were having pizzas and wat-nots, and back home the rally was happening wtf man!
